About Dr Rhondda Waterworth

A licensed English-speaking psychologist offering services to individuals, couples, children and families, I am registered as a psychologist (Counselling or General Psychologist) with the French, Australian and British regulatory bodies. I have over a decade of experience in providing therapy within the mental health services and private practice in Australia, as well as private practice in France and the UK,  including specialised techniques for helping children, adolescents, families, adults, as well as couples' therapy.

My practice is dedicated to helping people to grow and heal from the past, to adjust to life in new surroundings, to be resilient in the face of natural disasters and unexpected and difficult life events, develop better family bonds, and to live their best possible life, whatever their circumstances. It’s a journey of discovery that is different for each client, and I'm grateful every day that I'm able to touch so many lives. Your therapy sessions will be a safe space to get the emotional support and professional guidance that you need.

While we will talk about problems you face, we will also focus on your strengths, building your own resilience and inner resources, so as  to make positive changes in your life. If you would like to hear more about my approach, have questions, or would like to schedule a consultation, please visit the Contact page to get in touch.

My Approach

As a therapist, I take a systemic, person-centred approach, using techniques from family therapy, social constructionism (for cross cultural work), research-informed couples therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.

I have lived experience of different cultures and communities (coastal and rural Australia, South Asian, Asian, Muslim, French, Arabic, New Zealand, South African and British) and have experienced multiple emigrations personally and within my family.

Research Interests

As a research trained psychologist, systemic therapist, researcher and lawyer, I have a strong interest in the further application of psychology within legal (and other) systemic contexts.
